Scrappy was found on the side of the road after being hit AT LEAST 12 hours prior. Someone noticed he was hit by the car in the morning and on their way home, he was still there. They called animal control to pick him up around 8pm. He transferred to the shelter but they could not treat him and would not be able to keep him if he was in this much pain.
Hearts and Tails of Hope helped save this young 2 year old boy. He was taken to the vet immediately to find out the damage that had been done. Once at the vet, they found he had BILATERAL pelvis dislocations and fractures. Thankfully there was no internal bleeding or organ damage. The bad news: the cheaper of his options is still going to be $4000 after everything is said and done.
The vet gave a promising prognosis. The next few weeks will be long and painful but with a lot of meds, he will be getting surgery ready! He currently is unable to stand or bear weight so we will be wiping him after he uses the restroom. Eventually we will be able to help him by using a sling. His surgery is scheduled for November 29th! That means we have 3 weeks to raise as much money as we can for this sweet soul!
